Salespeople, What Would You Do With More Money?

What would you do if you made three, four times more money than you do now? In sales, it’s always possible to up the ante and dream bigger, especially with Spiro to help you out.

Us salespeople love money and – surprise! – that’s not a bad thing. The desire for money and motivation to make more are qualities that separate the legendary sales guys from the meh ones. It’s not that we’re greedy, we just know that money = the fuel to create the life we want to live. It’s us declaring ownership of our time on this earth.

We make the resources, we set the course; and the course is set for sunny shores, my friends.  So let’s have a little fun and think about all the amazing things you could do with some extra dough.

Buy a Nicer Ride

This is probably the first thing that jumps into people’s minds when they think of that first heavy paycheck. What’s your pleasure? A red sports car? A baby blue convertible? A block-long black SUV with all chrome everything? Nothing’s more satisfying than telling the dealer you’re paying with cash, be ready for the presidential treatment. Once you put your hands on that new leather steering wheel and push your foot against the floor you’ll be loving life at 80 mph.

Focus on Hobbies

Do you want to go on a luxury African safari? Always wanted to try heli-skiing? A nice jump in your salary could make that all happen. What’s money for after all than to make life more fucking interesting? The world is your oyster and you have its shiny pearls right in your hand, my friend. There’s an endless buffet of wonder and excitement out there, but it isn’t for everyone. Think you can ski St. Moritz with the beautiful people on a dime? Not a chance.

Spend More Time With Family

After all is said and done, your loved ones are what’s important. All the flash and style in the world can’t buy you trust, respect or the feeling of being known by others close to you in a deep and meaningful way. A bigger paycheck could afford you the extra resources – including time – to spend with your friends and family. Think big extravagant backyard barbecues or storybook holiday vacations with your significant other and/or kids. It doesn’t have to be over the top, a nice increase in cash flow could allow you to scale back some hours at work and just hang out with the fam. It also would mean less stress about bills and a happier you.

Donate to Charity

“If not but for the grace of God go I,” right? Life can be really shitty sometimes and if you’ve got it good, count your blessings. One of the best feelings you can get is knowing that you’re sharing a little bit of your abundance with others who need a helping hand or contributing resources to an organization that’s making the world a better place.

Save Up or Invest

Ding, Ding, Ding! The smart guys will probably say “I’ve BEEN doing that with my money.” You don’t get rich by spending money do you? You get rich by keeping it and making it grow. Start by saving up a nice nugget and teach yourself about investing or hire a broker to take your money into beast mode. Soon you’ll be buying that house you dreamed of or investing in that chicken chain like Kenny Powers.

Work Harder to Close More Deals

The coolest thing about sales is it really is a career where the earning potential is limitless. Don’t stop at $250k, push for $1 million and beyond. If you find a niche and you keep pushing yourself to always stay hungry, you’ll be doing what you only dreamed of.

Sales can be a golden ticket to the good life if you work hard, play smart, and keep challenging yourself. With all that potential the possibilities are endless, so make it happen!
