7 Reasons Why You Should Marry a Salesperson
If you are already dating someone who works in sales, then count yourself lucky! But if you’re one of the 50+ million people still swiping left and right on Tinder, then perhaps you should put down the phone and attend a sales conference.
A sales conference to find a spouse? Yes, I’m serious!
Salespeople make the ideal partner, and here’s 7 reasons to backup my bold claim:
1. They know when to talk and when to listen
One skill all great salespeople have is knowing how to let the customer talk. There is no way you can really hear the pain points of your prospect unless you are letting them do most of the talking. We all like to talk about ourselves, so date someone in sales and they will listen.
2. They ask the right questions
Not only are people in sales well versed at the “two ears, one mouth” rule, but they also know the right questions to ask to get someone to open up. Salespeople can sense any tension or avoidance and know the correct thing to say to put their customer at ease and restart the conversation again. This is especially useful in building an open dialect in a relationship!
3. They aren’t overly sensitive
Salespeople are used to getting turned down by prospects all day long. If you are going to make it in the sales world, you need to get over rejection quickly and have a pretty thick skin. If you are dating a salesperson, you don’t have to worry about them getting bent out of shape at every little thing.
4. They understand the importance of hard work
Everyone says that marriage is work. Well, there isn’t a job out there that is tougher than sales. Salespeople are extremely hard workers and are willing to put in the time and effort to seal the deal!
5. They won’t keep you waiting
Sales guys are constantly waiting on prospects to call them back, answer their email, or even give them a sign that they are still alive. This makes them very aware of the frustration associated with waiting around on someone. If you date a salesperson, they will get the importance of punctuality and return your calls in a timely manner.
6. They are willing to compromise
In every sales deal there are at least two people working together – you and the customer. Salespeople have to know how to compromise with their customer on timing, budget, and everything else. This is a great quality in a romantic partner as well – relationships are full of compromise and being willing to make small adjustments to have it work.
7. They know how to make you feel good
A key part of making a sale is being able to create trust with your customers and build great rapport. Awesome salespeople not only know how to make their clients feel at ease, but can also make them feel better. If you’re stressed out, had a bad day, or just in a mood, there’s no doubt that if anyone can cheer you up and make you feel better about things, it’ll be a salesperson.
