Spiro’s Most Popular, Outrageous and Funniest Sales Blog Posts Ever

Since starting this blog two years ago, we’ve publish over 250 posts on topics related to sales. That’s almost 2.5 sales blog posts per week for the past two years. Amazing!

Our readership has steadily grown and each month we’re typically seeing over 150,000 visitors on our site. My guess is that they’re mostly in sales and sales related jobs (which means that they should check out Spiro’s AI-powered sales automation CRM).

As an exercise, we compiled our most popular, outrageous and funniest sales blog posts of all time. We did this for three reasons:

  1. To give new readers an easy “digest” of posts to start with.
  2. To give long-time readers an appendix of important posts to revisit when they become more relevant to them.
  3. To try and get a better sense of what works and what doesn’t

However, given all of the negative stereotypes of salespeople in the media, we have definitely heard of salespeople being turned down for dates based on their profession. Not cool! As one commenter wrote “My boyfriend is a salesperson.. And it’s amazing. He is a lovely, attentive person with the best personality.” Read 10 Reasons Why Everyone Should Date a Salesperson.

Sometimes salespeople can be their own worst enemy. Sure, it’s easy to blame our troubles on the marketing department giving us crap leads or the product’s failures. Let’s take a look in the mirror and make sure we’re not making these common sales mistakes. Read 7 Ways You’re Decreasing Your Commission Checks.

Everyone loves the Harvard Business Review. Or at least that’s what they’ll tell you. When you actually pick it up and try reading it you’re met with dense prose more suited to academia than a quick read. As Gordon Gekko would say, “break it down for me, kid. What’s it saying?” Well, that’s what we did in According to the Harvard Business Review, What Makes a Legendary Salesperson.

Oh, they can hear you from a mile away. Here comes the salesperson. What’s causing that behavior? What can you do about it? Read Stop Sounding Like A Salesperson.

Hate getting rejected, but you’re in sales? Tell it to the hand because even the best sales professionals deal with rejection on a daily basis. It’s something that’s very unique about our jobs that most people really don’t understand. Read Sales Guys Need to Learn to Deal With Rejection or GTFO. (And yes, even thought we’re on the record for saying that swearing can be good for business in the right circumstances, we went with the abbreviation.)

There are few things that salespeople hate more than having to work with a soul-sucking corporate CRM solution that treats them like sheep. Our head of product, Andy Levi, pulled together his 15+ years of experience in delivering solutions for salespeople in Here’s Why Salespeople Hate CRM.
